Mailjet Integration

Automatically add form submitters to a Mailjet contact list when they submit a form — no separate signup step required. Mailjet requires Contactum Pro with the Mailjet module enabled.

Requirements #

• Contactum Pro, with the Mailjet module active (Contactum → Modules)
• An active Mailjet account — sign up here if you don’t have one
• Your Mailjet API Key and Secret Key

1. Get Your Mailjet API Credentials #

1. Log in to Mailjet and go to Account Settings → REST API → API Key Management.
2. Copy your API Key and Secret Key.

2. Connect Mailjet in Contactum #

1. Go to Contactum → Settings → Integrations → Mailjet.
2. Paste in your Mailjet API Key and Mailjet Secret Key.
3. Click Save Settings.

Contactum verifies the pair against your Mailjet account before saving. On success you’ll see “Your Mailjet API credentials have been verified and saved” and the status badge turns green. If the keys are wrong, Mailjet’s own error message is shown instead — and unlike most integrations, the fields are not persisted on a failed check, so you’ll need to re-enter both if verification fails.

To disconnect, click Disconnect Mailjet — this clears the stored credentials and stops all list additions until reconnected.

3. Enable Mailjet on a Specific Form #

1. Open the form in the builder.
2. Go to Form Settings → Integrations.
3. Toggle Mailjet on, then click Configure.

4. Configure Field Mapping #

Field	Required	Description

Use the { } smart tag button under each field to map it to a form field, the same as any other Contactum integration. There’s no double opt-in option for Mailjet.

5. How It Works #

When a visitor submits the form:

1. Contactum checks the form has Mailjet enabled and that both Contact List and Email are configured.
2. The mapped smart tags are resolved against the submission; if the resolved email is empty, nothing is sent.
3. Contactum adds (or updates) the contact on the selected list using Mailjet’s addnoforce action — this adds the contact without overriding an existing unsubscribe. If someone previously unsubscribed from that list in Mailjet, submitting the form again will not force them back to subscribed; Mailjet’s own opt-out rules take precedence.

A failed Mailjet request does not block the form submission — the visitor still sees a normal success confirmation even if the contact wasn’t added. Unlike most other Contactum integrations, a Mailjet failure is not recorded in the API Log — there’s currently no admin-visible trace of a failed submission, so if contacts seem to be missing, double-check the field mapping and your Mailjet account directly.

Troubleshooting #

“Your Mailjet API credentials could not be verified” #

• Reconfirm the API Key and Secret Key were copied exactly from Mailjet → Account Settings → REST API → API Key Management.
• Re-enter both fields — a failed check does not keep your previous input.

Contact List dropdown is empty #

• Confirm the global credentials show the green verified badge before clicking refresh.
• Confirm your Mailjet account actually has at least one contact list created.

Contacts aren’t appearing on the list #

1. Confirm the form has Mailjet toggled on and was saved.
2. Confirm both Contact List and Email are mapped in the Configure dialog — the integration silently does nothing if either is missing.
3. Submit a test entry with a real email address, then check the selected list in Mailjet.
4. If the contact previously unsubscribed from that list, Mailjet will not re-subscribe them automatically — check their status directly in Mailjet.

Notes #

• Requires Contactum Pro with the Mailjet module active — not available in the free plugin.
• Auth method: API Key + Secret Key (HTTP Basic Auth) — not OAuth.
• API version: Mailjet REST API v3 (https://api.mailjet.com/v3/).
• Credentials storage: api_key and secret_key are stored in wp_options under the key contactum_mailjet.
• A failed submission never blocks the form — the visitor’s experience is unaffected by a Mailjet outage or misconfiguration — but be aware failures aren’t logged, so test the connection directly if in doubt.
